Redefine|BDL Hotels, the leading independent hotel management company, has made significant progress on four brand new hotels in the first quarter of 2015.
Representing an investment of approximately £60m in the hotel sector overall, the properties set to launch in the coming months constitute 577 additional rooms and multiple leading hotel brands, including two new partnerships with Accor and Marriott International.
The new properties
The new properties include the 101-bedroom ibis Styles Glasgow, set to open in autumn 2015, which marks the management company’s first partnership with Accor. As well as managing the hotel on completion, the company is assisting with the design and development of the property.
At around the same time, Redefine|BDL Hotels will assume management of the 138-bedroom Holiday Inn Express Middlesbrough.
A 90-bedroom Holiday Inn Express St Albans is planned for spring 2016, with a Courtyard by Marriott opening in Edinburgh city centre in summer 2016 – the management company’s first partnership with Marriott International.
Busy start to 2015
Ross Morrow, Chief Development Officer at Redefine|BDL Hotels, said: “We’ve had a very busy start to 2015, forging ahead with several new hotels with our prestigious existing brands and exciting projects with new partners such as Accor and Marriott.
“It’s safe to say that construction of hotels has gained significant momentum once again and we are pleased to be demonstrating our development experience, as well as our management expertise, throughout 2015 and beyond.
“We have £16m of capital expenditure in our estate this financial year under our control, which is a significant increase from our 2014 numbers, and we have added four new project managers and co-ordinators to the development team to help deliver our plans.
“We’ve also found time to project manage and develop the refurbishment and extension of our Glasgow and Brentford premises, to help sustain the company’s growth.”
