International real estate advisor Savills, on behalf of two private investors, has sold a portfolio of seafront hotels in Bournemouth to a successful Qatari group from a guide price of £16 million.
The portfolio comprises the Suncliff Hotel, Cumberland Hotel and Cliffeside Hotel, offering a total of 282 bedrooms. The largest of the three is the Suncliff Hotel, which features 114 bedrooms plus a restaurant, two bars, function rooms, conference space and indoor leisure facilities.
The Art Deco-style Cumberland Hotel (above) and the Cliffeside Hotel offer 107 and 62 bedrooms respectively. The former is the highest rated 3* hotel in Bournemouth, while both feature a restaurant, bar and outdoor swimming pool.
Located on East Overcliff Drive, the hotels offer spectacular coastal views and are all within walking distance of Bournemouth International Conference Centre and the town centre.
Martin Rogers, head of hotels at Savills, comments: “These prime hotels offer multiple revenue streams and appeal to a wide range of guests including corporate, private leisure and group tours. The portfolio generated significant interest and we are pleased with the sale price which emphasises the strength of the hotel market in the regions.”
Savills acted jointly with Christie + Co.
