Pilsner Urquell’s Tankovna Beer will be served in Soho’s new Chinese Gastropub, Duck + Rice from April 2015, delivered direct from the brewery in Plzen, Czech Republic into specially crafted copper tanks on display on the ground floor of the new venue.
Each 500 litre tank will be refilled with fresh Pilsner Urquell every week and customers will be invited to taste the world’s first golden beer, which features 100% Czech ingredients and remains unchanged since 1842.
Exciting new pairing
Handpicked to feature in his latest venture, renowned restaurateur Alan Yau says, “Pilsner Urquell is the archetypal pilsner, yet distinctive, with sufficient character to take on spicy food. It’s very refreshing for the palate, with a clean finish that prepares one to properly appreciate different flavours. To enjoy the tank beer, alongside the new-fashioned Chinese food from the Duck + Rice kitchen is an exciting new pairing.”
