Bryn Williams to create a feast for Goodwood

By James Russell: Bryn Williams to create a feast for Goodwood

April 21, 2015

Widely regarded as one of Britain’s most exciting chefs, now Bryn Williams of Odette’s restaurant will be guest chef at Goodwood, creating a unique menu for the Festival of Speed (25-28 June), Qatar Goodwood Festival (28 July-1 August), and the Goodwood Revival (11-13 September).

Bryn is passionate about seasonal cooking and catching the flavour of every dish, and will be bringing the very best in fine dining straight to each event at the world-famous West Sussex venue. Bryn says: “I love horses and cars and I look forward to being a part of these fantastic Goodwood events. Cooking some seasonal delights alongside a truly brilliant team of chefs, I will have as much fun as the guests.”

Qatar Goodwood Festival

During the Qatar Goodwood Festival, Bryn will be working closely with Head Chef Julian Frost-Wilson to create seasonal delights in the Secret Garden, with a menu that will include new-season asparagus with truffled and rapeseed mayonnaise or ham hock terrine with spiced pear and toast.  Monkfish, asparagus, gem lettuce and salted grapes or a treacle-marinated beef fillet with fondant potato, mushroom and red wine shallots will showcase the main course dishes. Cheese and pudding will include local artisan cheeses, vanilla yoghurt panna cotta with raspberries and lemon curd or a savarin with Chantilly cream, pineapple and rum.

Later on during the day, diners can enjoy a delightful traditional afternoon tea. Including a champagne reception and a complimentary bar of house wines, house beers and soft drinks, prices start at £270 (plus VAT) per person.

Festival of Speed

The Festival of Speed is the largest motoring garden party in the world. Bryn will take up residence on the Library Lawn and will ensure that all guests have as amazing a time eating and drinking as they do at the heart of all the top-speed action.  An energy fuelled breakfast will ensure they are ready for the day and a three-course lunch will be waiting when they are ready for a much-needed sit down. A fabulous afternoon tea served on the lawn will allow time to reflect on the spectacle of the day. Priced at £560 per person (plus VAT), this includes a champagne reception and a complimentary bar of house wines, house beers and soft drinks.

Goodwood Revival

The Goodwood Revival is a three-day festival celebrating all things vintage (including some fabulous cars). Bryn will be at Goodwood for each day of the Revival and guests in the Salvadori Pavilions are in for a treat. The day will start with a hearty breakfast of bacon and brioche rolls, before a four-course lunch inspired by dishes from the era, while a traditional afternoon tea with a twist rounds off the event perfectly. Prices, including a champagne reception and a complimentary bar of wines, beers and soft drinks, starts at £680 per person, plus VAT.
