Two new eateries for Manchester Airport

By James Russell: Two new eateries for Manchester Airport

March 27, 2015

Manchester Airport has launched two new food and beverage concepts in Terminal 3 with service partner Autogrill Catering UK, operated by HMSHost International.

The Lion and Antelope (pictured) and Pork & Pickle have now both officially opened. The Lion and Antelope is a brand new concept of a traditional English pub, named after Manchester’s town crest. Customers can enjoy typical English dishes, including hand battered Fish and Chips washed down with local beers such as Manchester Pale Ale and JW Lees Bitter.

Pork & Pickle offers an array of traditional pastries, delicacies and breads where customers have the choice to eat in or for those with less time to take away.

Beth Brewster, Manchester Airports Group (MAG) Retail Director said: “We’re delighted to officially open these brand new food and beverage facilities as part of the ongoing development of Terminal 3.
“HMSHost International have expanded their commercial space in Terminal 3 by over 50% and customers now have more choice; whether they are in a rush but want to take something substantial with them or prefer to enjoy a sit down meal, or just a drink.”

Walter Seib, CEO of HMSHost International said: “Together with Manchester Airport, we had the opportunity to develop inspiring food & beverage concepts. These new local based venues will enhance what is already an impressive food experience at Manchester Airport.”

William Lees-Jones of JW Lees added: “Manchester Pale Ale has been a favourite amongst our drinkers since its launch in 2013 and we’re thrilled to now be serving it at The Lion and  Antelope at Terminal 3, which is a fantastic bar.

“Now more people than ever are able to sample a real flavour of Manchester, and with MPA’s great taste we know they’ll love it. Serving MPA at The Lion and Antelope gives visitors to the North West a chance to see what we’re all about and we’re pleased to represent Manchester with our bestselling cask ale. We’re also really pleased that the Lion and Antelope is also selling bottled MPA for travellers to take with them, because you can take the ale out of Manchester but you can’t take Manchester out of the ale.”
