Punch Taverns appoints Duncan Garrood as CEO

By James Russell: Punch Taverns appoints Duncan Garrood as CEO

The Board of Punch Taverns Plc has announced that Duncan Garrood has agreed to join as Chief Executive Officer on or before 15 June 2015.

Duncan will join Punch from MH Alshaya where he has been the President of the Food Division, since 2009, with broad responsibility across a retail division of 1,000 franchised outlets.

Prior to his current role Duncan was Commercial Director of BAA plc, the airport operator.

Duncan has a strong background in the retail and leisure sector and an excellent track record of driving operational performance over a career spanning 31 years in Unilever plc, SC Johnson and BAA plc.

As previously announced, when Duncan joins Punch, Executive Chairman Stephen Billingham will revert to the role of Non-executive Chairman.

Stephen Billingham, Chairman, said:
