Pan Chai, the UK’s first and only pan-Asian franchise has expanded with the recent opening of Pan Chai petite at Bicester Village, Oxfordshire.
Pan Chai petite launched within designer outlet Bicester Village in late January with a temporary pop-up site planned to operate until 12 April 2015, with a plan to move within a permanent site within the complex following this. With 12 covers around the serving counter as well as outside seating, Pan Chai petite is an ideal lunch pit-stop for shoppers.
Pan-Asian cuisine
Pan Chai petite serves a menu of pan-Asian cuisine, from small plates with a selection of sushi and dim sum, to mains including Nasi goreng, Thai green curry, Vietnamese Pho (choice of Chicken or Beef), and Black cod with sweet soy glaze. Asian soft drinks available include Malaysian pulled tea, Glass jelly and Bubble Tea.
Starting in Harrods
The launch of Pan Chai petite marks the latest opening from the Pan Chai franchise, the UK’s first and only pan-Asian franchise model. The original Pan Chai concept is situated within the world famous Harrods Food Hall. The restaurant presents a range of fresh dishes created by executive chef Ian Pengelley, one of the leading experts in Asian cuisine. Since opening in 2011, Pan Chai has enjoyed significant success and profitability, receiving the award for the Best Performing Restaurant Concession from Harrods in 2012.
Pan Chai, and now Pan Chai petite, boasts a team of dedicated chefs who are continuously experimenting with new flavours and make frequent research visits to Asia. The chefs use their findings and expertise to develop recipes and evolve menus and product offerings, ensuring a sense of authenticity remains in every dish, thus maintaining the Pan Chai brand ethos.
Owner Eddie Lim is thrilled with the new addition to his restaurant group, which also includes the recent opening of Chai Wu in Harrods with which he is enjoying great success. Commenting on the new franchise, Eddie says, ‘We are delighted to be expanding the Pan Chai brand with the launch of casual dining concept Pan Chai petite. Diners can expect the same high level of cuisine Pan Chai offers, but in a slightly less formal setting and at a lower price point.’
