Hotel Gotham, the new 60 bedroom hotel at the head of Manchester’s King Street, is pleased to announce the latest additions to its burgeoning team. Sales Manager Matt Miller, Head Chef Matthew Taylor, and Operations Manager Dulce Marques join MD Jeff Ward as the property gears up for its April opening.
“We have been inundated with applications for prospective team members and spoilt for choice, with a really high quality of candidates”, said Jeff Ward, MD of Hotel Gotham. “We are assembling a formidable team of staff, from some of the greatest hotels in the North West, and a few from very special places around the UK.’
Matthew Taylor, Head Chef
Matthew (above) comes to Hotel Gotham as Head Chef following fourteen years in the industry, returning to his roots in fine British dining after a wide range of roles at British institutions including Chester Racecourse and DeVere Hotels. “I am excited to be supporting local producers and providing a modern twist on the classics”, he said. “Our restaurant, Honey, will offer a strong nod to the provenance of the North and seasonality of its fantastic produce.”
Matt Miller, Sales Manager
Matt Miller joins the Hotel Gotham after 25 years in the hospitality industry, taking in stints at Millennium and Copthorne, as well as the Midland Hotel where he was named employee of the year. Beginning as an Events Manager at Chapman Holmes, where he worked across a vast range of events, from product launches to royal functions, as well as closely alongside The National Trust, Matt was then instrumental in the rise of Springbank, Europe’s largest event florist, with whom he has completed both Labour and Conservative Party Conferences, alongside events at Blenheim Palace, Fortnum & Mason, and The Etihad Stadium.
Dulce Marques, Operations Manager
Joining the Gotham team from Dormy House Hotel in Broadway, Dulce has amassed 21 years of experience in hospitality, including positions across Europe from Switzerland to five star hotels in Lisbon, as well under the stewardship of Jeff Ward himself at London’s Cannizaro House.
