Over the weekend of 12 – 14 March, London caterers Food by Dish were part of a three day gaming event which saw almost 12,000 fans attend and fed at historic Tobacco Dock in Shadwell, east London.

Showcasing some of the latest computer game releases, the event saw Food by Dish cater almost 6,000 servings and create four unique street food menus for the occasion.

Themed to appeal to varying tastes and suitable for mass catering, pop-up stalls were aptly named quayside pies, the spud hut, spice street and diner at the dock. Highlighting the popularity in freshly prepared fast-food, catering ranged from warm dishes to quick bites for guests eating on-the-go.

Creating a bustling market feel to proceedings, Food by Dish served high-energy plates including specially prepared quayside pies of Moroccan lamb steak, horseradish and ale; chicken, bacon and leek smoked cheese; potato and leek served with mash and liquor.

Dinner plates also included pulled pork brioche bun with smokey BBQ sauce; southern spiced chicken burger; spiced vegetarian bean burger with chipotle salsa.

Theatre and excitement
