H&C News wrote recently about the launch of every Hotels (see link below), the new brand from glh, the largest owner-operator hotel company in London with over 4,000 hotel rooms, and a total of 8,279 bedrooms and 337 meeting rooms across 36 hotels in the UK.
every Hotels is described as the result of a two year research, insight and customer feedback programme, and focuses on ‘giving guests what they really want’, and not what they never use, meeting the needs of the quality conscious business professional and savvy city explorer. Specific features identified at the launch included:
- Modern, well equipped bedrooms designed around guests, with a Hypnos bed, rainfall shower, Smart TV and added touches like Nespresso coffee machines and complimentary soft drink mini bar
- Choose Your Own Room booking service so guests can pre-select their room prior to arrival
- Online check-in and check-out putting the guest in control
- A great central London location with genuinely knowledgeable hosts trained to help guests get more from their stay
- As with all glh properties, every Hotels will offer the fastest ever, free and unlimited Wi-Fi as standard. (Currently achieving up to 882 Mbps).
We were delighted just last week to stay overnight and to check out the ‘promise’ first hand to see how it matched up to the claims and our expectations.
A great central London location with genuinely knowledgeable hosts
The convenience of the location for any business or tourist visitor to London is outstanding: the hotel is located in Coventry Street, just beside Leicester Square. ‘Central’ London it is.
And it was good to confirm that check-in (see below) was fast and efficient, with staff quick to meet, greet and assist arriving guests. No time-consuming delays here, and the reception set the tone for our visit – helpful and friendly at all times, going out of their way to assist.
Design and branding
As the illustrations show, the branding uses a strong white, red and black colour palette, and elements of design in the hotel pick up on this – as with the check-in desk pictured above.
The bar and restaurant in the basement also features stylish but comfortable seating in red which, in relatively subdued lighting, manages not to become overwhelming.
Design inside the bedrooms uses softer colours – nothing to disturb the calm, modern comfort.
Modern, well equipped bedrooms designed around guests
The rooms are indeed comfortable and well-equipped, from the complimentary Wi-Fi (yes, it does indeed work as promised), to the free soft drink mini bars (remember the days of mini bars that seemed to charge a fortune if you even opened the door?), to Nespresso machines with a choice of coffees, to big screen in-room entertainment.
As the picture above shows, there’s even a chair that allows you to work at your laptop in comfort – a rarity in many hotels.

Bar and Restaurant
The problem of this tight London location could have been that, in requiring the bar and restaurant to use the basement, it results in a claustrophobic and uncomfortable space. In fact, that’s far from the case: it is both well organised and furnished, and provides a relaxing environment for a drink or meal.
Wisely, with Soho on the doorstep, the menu does not attempt to compete: its pizzas, burgers and more will satisfy the tired tourist or businessman, and the well-stocked bar delivers the necessary refreshment.
As ever, attentive staff are ever-present: most buffet style breakfasts are notable for the absence of waiting staff, but not here.
In summary
The every Hotel Piccadilly has an excellent location and delivers the promise: ‘giving guests what they really want’.
If you want meeting rooms, spa or swimming pool, then it’s not for you – they’re not here.
If you want a bedroom with a very high level of comfort and amenities, high speed WiFi and Smart TV, good breakfast and dinner, and staff who will certainly ‘go the extra mile’ to help, then look no further.
The launch of every Hotel Piccadilly will be followed by Bloomsbury, Hyde Park and Leicester Square over the next 18 months, with an ambition to add up to another 50 hotels globally by the end of the decade. If all the every Hotels match up to this first one, and it’s certainly safe to assume that they will, then it’s also safe to assume that there will be plenty of guests enjoying their stay in them.
