Marston’s Premium pub operator, Revere, has announced the opening of two new sites: The Elephant At The Market in Newbury, Berkshire on 12 March and The Farmhouse at Mackworth in Derbyshire towards the end of March.
Designed by Concorde BGW, each site will undergo an extensive refurbishment to offer the best eating, drinking and sleeping experience all under one roof. Each site will provide all the comforts and amenities expected from a boutique hotel complete with stylish, contemporary décor, bespoke furniture and textured fabrics. In-room facilities such as flat-screen Smart TVs, spacious bathrooms, complimentary Wi-Fi, luxury bed linen and premium toiletries comes as standard.
The Elephant At The Market
Formerly known as The Queen’s Head, The Elephant At The Market is a 2,500 sq. ft. building situated centrally on the Market Square. The bar, restaurant and hotel has 14 bedrooms inclusive of four super king, seven king size, two twin and one large family room complete with a super king and sofa bed. The stripped-back urban-look dining room and bar can hold 106 covers alongside a 55-cover alfresco terrace and an outside private dining space in the form of a large metal shipping container complete with Astroturf flooring, for parties of between 12 to 16 people.
The Farmhouse at Mackworth
The Farmhouse at Mackworth is the company’s biggest project to date, a converted 18th century building (4,660 sq. ft.) with 10 bedrooms, which includes an exclusive Bridal Suite with a freestanding bath and feature fireplace.
The fully refurbished bar, restaurant and hotel takes on an industrial look and feel with copper bronze-aged metallic tiles and reclaimed timber panelling on the walls with filament lighting overhead. A bold block colour palette, patterned floor tiling and a central panoramic log burner in the restaurant complete the picture.
The building will house extensive dining and bar areas with 200 covers, a private dining room for up to 16 people, a flexible space, which lends itself for conference and meetings for up to 44 and outside seating for up to 172 people in the warmer months.
The Farmhouse will also be home to The Folly, a dedicated wedding and events venue (2,280.sq.ft), with it’s own entrance and private terrace perfect for Champagne receptions. The Folly has a maximum capacity of 70 seated and 100 standing, whilst a partition wall provides the versatility to provide two smaller settings for more intimate affairs. The décor has been purposefully designed as a blank canvas for bridal parties to theme it to their requirements.
Overnight stays at The Elephant At The Market and The Farmhouse are reasonably priced with rates starting from £90 per night.
Each will welcome locals and visitors from breakfast through to dinner offering a regularly changing British menu featuring an array of seasonal dishes. Signature dishes include as 28-day aged prime cuts of beef from John Penny’s farm in Yorkshire cooked with a Josper Charcoal flavour and a range of homemade signature pizzas, stretched and cooked fresh to order from the Italian wood-fired oven.
