Delaware North has been appointed to manage the catering operations at the South Park Stadium in the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park.
The 25 year contract will see Delaware North take responsibility for event day hospitality catering, the general admission food and beverage offer and the marketing and management of non event day conferences and functions. Delaware North will also be responsible for the marketing, sales and delivery of all tours of the South Park Stadium, as part of the venue’s continued celebrated legacy.
The South Park Stadium, which became famous across the globe during the 2012 London Olympics, will once again be one of the UK’s most iconic stadiums as it becomes home to a range of events and activities in the coming years, including Premier League team West Ham United FC and UK Athletics.
Rugby World Cup
In 2015, the stadium will host five Rugby World Cup games before becoming the home of West Ham from the start of the 2016-17 season and the base of UK Athletics hosting the World Athletics Championships in 2017.
Doug Tetley, Managing Director at Delaware North UK, commented:
“We have global experience in providing stadium hospitality and catering with operations across four continents. It is this expertise that Delaware North will bring to the South Park Stadium, ensuring that we deliver a world class service to visitors, fans and spectators in the coming years.”
The contract was awarded following a successful tender in 2014, which sees VINCI Stadium become the official operator of the stadium with Delaware North as the catering and hospitality partner.
Doug added: “This contract award is a great start to 2015 as we look to expand our operations here in the UK. The South Park Stadium win is the latest success in the capital with Delaware North now operating at some of London’s most famous sporting and entertainment venues including; Wembley Stadium, the Emirates Stadium, Craven Cottage and the Valley.”
Founded in 1915, Delaware North has grown into one of the most admired hospitality and food service companies in the world with 60,000+ employees serving half a billion customers in locations that include national parks, luxury resorts, sports stadia and arenas, gaming venues, and travel hospitality in airports.
