This morning’s announcement from Mitie plc confirming the extension of a contract for support services with Standard Life that includes catering demonstrates Gather & Gather’s continuing growth.
On the back of Mitie’s relationship with Standard Life since 2008, Gather & Gather’s team cater for in excess of 5,000 Standard Life staff, primarily in central Edinburgh, but with some additional services being provided at the St Mary’s Axe (Gherkin) Building in London. Gather & Gather has a strong relationship with Standard Life and recently extended its contract to 2018 – built on a commitment to work as a team with them. Gather & Gather aims not just to provide good food, it partners with Standard Life and what the business does is all about enhancing the Standard Life workplace through the food and drink it serves to customers.
Approach paying off
Gather & Gather’s commitment to connecting people and food and enhancing its clients’ workplace is paying off with almost £20m of new catering deals confirmed in the past year.
Its ethos of providing great foodservices aligned to clients’ cultures and business objectives is making a mark in the market place. New contracts range from BBC Worldwide’s new offices in Television Centre as part of a bundled facilities management (FM) deal to large single service contracts such as the White Rose Business Park in Leeds. The business has also extended existing deals with Standard Life (in February) and Lloyds Banking Group (in December).
Re-branded in 2012
The business sent a message to its competitors when it rebranded and launched in 2012 and continues to make waves in the sector.

We take a different, direct approach and look to take the food right back to the beginning – understanding why our clients provide food for their people and then building up the services from there.
