Choice Hotels International, one of the largest hotel companies in the world and known for the Comfort, Quality and Clarion brands in Europe, has expanded its senior international leadership team. This new structure will enable Choice to capitalize on market opportunities and accelerate and deliver on its aggressive international brand growth plans, with a particular focus on Europe.
Three new senior roles have been created to lead investment management, sales and operations with the following appointments.
Carl Oldsberg, Vice President, International Operations
Carl will take responsibility for directing franchise services, sales, marketing and distribution as well as driving international adoption of Choice’s distribution and business delivery systems at the hotel level. He will continue strengthening Choice’s overall value proposition and offering for franchisees based outside the United States. Carl will report directly to Mark Pearce, Senior Vice President, International, and be based at Choice’s corporate headquarters in Maryland, USA.
Max Cergneux, Senior Director, International Investment and Portfolio Management
Based in the London office and also reporting directly to Mark Pearce, Max will be responsible for growing Choice’s international portfolio and will focus on helping to achieve the company’s ambitious growth goals through investment-led deals, multi-unit transactions and strategic partnerships. Max brings extensive experience in business and corporate development including eight years with Marriott International in Europe, the Middle East and Africa.
Guillaume Filly, Senior Director, European Sales & Distribution
Guillaume originally joined Choice Hotels in 2011 as Sales Director for France, Switzerland and Portugal. In order to optimise business development and distribution channels across Europe, he will now lead Choice’s pan-European sales and distribution efforts across eight additional markets including UK, Germany, Italy, Czech Republic and Turkey. He will continue to be based in Paris and will report directly to Carl Oldsberg.
Mark Pearce commented on the appointments: “We’ve made tremendous strides in strengthening our European value proposition and increasing reservation delivery to our European hotels. Our strategy remains to grow and expand our portfolio throughout the UK and Europe both through organic growth as well as new development opportunities through investment-led deals, multi-unit partnership and strategic partnerships. I’m delighted to have these three senior leaders on board to lead our efforts.”
