Having worked in the hospitality industry for nearly 40 years, Andrew McKenzie, Managing Director of The Vineyard Group, was delighted to have been chosen as this year’s winner of the Imbibe Hotel Personality of the Year Award announced at Mondrian Hotel’s Rumpus Room on Monday 2 February 2015.

Andrew is no stranger to winning awards and was proud to accept the coveted Catey ‘Hotelier of the Year” title back in 2009 for demonstrating key strengths in leadership, management and communication skills, and commitment to employees and the industry at large.

During his career, he has been heavily involved in the wider hotel industry including past chairman and director of Master Innholders, current chairman of the BHA, UK steering group member of Relais & Chateaux, and in the past has been a founding director of the National Skills Academy. He has also chaired the hotels association in Carlisle, Bristol and Newbury and is a Liveryman and a Freeman of the City of London.

Andrew is well known in the industry for his enthusiasm and passion for the hospitality industry in general and also for the hotels his manages. Andrew commented: “I would like to thank everyone who nominated me for the Imbibe Hotel Personality of the Year 2015; it was a real honour to accept an award of this calibre. I’m looking forward to an exciting 2015 at The Vineyard Group and getting involved in exciting projects within the wider hotel industry.”
