On 21 January, renowned modern Indian chef Vivek Singh accepted an honorary degree from the University of Warwick for his significant contribution to the culinary landscape of London and the development of Indian cuisine across the United Kingdom.
Celebrating its 50th year, the University is honouring those who drive change through independent thinking and exceptional professional achievement, and have decided to honour the Executive Chef of The Cinnamon Club, Cinnamon Kitchen and Cinnamon Soho, for his unique and authentic modern Indian culinary style, as well as his entrepreneurialism and significant charitable contributions.
Vivek Singh said: “I am delighted to have been awarded an honorary degree from such a prestigious university. The University of Warwick and I share many of the same aspirations and goals, as well as a love for the food industry, and I look forward to building a lasting relationship with Professor Thrift and his talented team.”
Significant contribution
