The nomination process is now open for the fourth annual NRB Top 50, in association with Kuits licensing solicitors, so do not delay in putting forward the names of the people who you think are making an outstanding contribution to the critical and commercial success of their operations.
The prestigious list, which is announced at a special reception at the NRB on 17 March, is hotly contested and the results always create a huge stir amongst the regional and national hospitality industry.
Everyone who makes the Top 50 must be actively working in the hospitality industry and be based in the region (North West, North East, Yorkshire and the Humber). To nominate a colleague, a client or indeed yourself, simply complete the form at www.nrbtop50.co.uk The rules and restrictions are all detailed on the form itself, and the nomination process is open until Friday 16th January 2015. The winners who have made the list will receive a letter confirming their inclusion by Monday 2nd March 2015.
Making the Top 50 is an enormous achievement, with the awards attracting hundreds of entries from across a dynamic and diverse region which stretches from Cheshire and South Yorkshire up to Cumbria and Northumberland. In addition, three special winners will be selected based on their exceptional successes and impact throughout the year. Last year’s special award winners were Tim Bacon and Jeremy Roberts from Cheshire-based Living Ventures, Marc Wilkinson from Restaurant Fraiche on the Wirral, and Paul Askew from the Art School in Liverpool.
As well as headline sponsors Kuits, and long term supporters The Russell Partnership, new sponsors for this year include BDO and Tushingham Moore Leisure. This creates a hand-picked panel of Northern experts in the fields of hospitality finance, property, law and consultancy who will deliberate and cogitate through hours of judging discussion. The prestige of sealing a place on the list matters more than ever with those included becoming part of the NRB Top 50 Alumni association as well as receiving VIP invitations to the exclusive NRB Debate www.nrbdebate.co.uk and the Too Many Critics Manchester dinner.
Awards reception
The invitation only NRB Top 50 awards reception takes place on 17 March at Northern Restaurant & Bar, the largest hospitality exhibition outside London. It also forms part of Northern Hospitality Week (NHW), five days of class-leading industry debates and special one-off business events. As well the awards and the exhibition this includes the NRB Debate as well as industry charity dinners such as Action Against Hunger’s Too Many Critics Manchester, a host of industry association meetings and visitor discounts and special offers in bars and restaurants.
