A pub which is home to the The Hardraw Scaur Waterfall, the highest single drop waterfall in England, is on the market. The Green Dragon Inn in Hardraw is located in Upper Wensleydale in the heart of the Yorkshire Dales National Park, and offers the only access to the waterfall and visitors centre.
The Green Dragon Inn, which dates from the 13th century, has been owned by D.Mark Thompson for the past 14 years. Mr Thompson, who describes himself as “inn keeper and waterfall provider”, is retiring from the business, but will retain ownership of the waterfall and the visitors centre.
The waterfall featured in the film, Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves, which starred Kevin Costner.
The Green Dragon Inn has three interconnecting lounge bars, two dining rooms and a function room, and features flagged floors, open fires, beamed ceilings and stone walls. It also offers 14 letting bedrooms.
The site extends to around 15 acres in all and includes a camping and caravan site.
There is a three bedroom cottage and additional self contained apartments available by separate negotiation.
The Green Dragon Inn is on the market for £675,000 freehold or £100,000 for a new free of tie lease with freehold purchase option with the Leeds office of specialist national business agents Davey Co.
