This spring South West London will see the arrival of a tongue-in-cheek late night Mexican bar serving over 60 different tequilas, original cocktails and authentic street food in a vibrant space based on Latin America’s most iconic country.
Located a stone’s throw away from Putney Station on the Upper Richmond Road, El Patron will be a celebration of all that is fun and enjoyable in Latin culture. The bar will be presided over by the heavily moustached, poncho-clad El Patron (the boss) character, who will welcome guests in his inimitable style, and visitors will be whisked away to sunnier shores from the moment they enter.
Set over two floors, El Patron will offer drinking and dining throughout the week and with their house band on Friday evenings and resident DJs on Saturdays, guests will be dancing until dawn.
The décor features reclaimed brick and brightly coloured wooden shutters line the walls, as does a striking skull mural in authentic Mexican style. Stairs covered in beautiful mosaic paintings lead guests downstairs where the warm wooden interior and quirky design features will ensure a party atmosphere until late.
The El Patron bar team has created a range of Mexican-inspired cocktails, with one of London’s largest ranges of different tequilas stocked. Actress Cleo Rocos is already an ambassador for the playful bar and her AquaRiva tequila will be the house pour at El Patron, being used in eye-catching sharing cocktails such as Piñata and the Head Hunter which will be served in classic Mexican vessels.
Guests will enjoy simple, delicious Mexican street food and sharing dishes at informal wooden tables. Dishes will include burritos, tacos and quesadillas, alongside tortilla chips with a variety of different salsas and El Patron’s Secret Guacamole.
Perfect for any type of celebration, group bookings will receive a party box at their table full of Mexican props and moustaches to enjoy throughout the evening. There will even be a photobooth to capture all the night time antics.
