Las Iguanas has delivered another bumper Latin Christmas with like for like sales hitting +7.8% over the Christmas fortnight. New Year’s Eve saw a 12.8% increase on last year and over a quarter of the estate had record breaking weeks.
Overall sales for the 4 week period to 3 January were +2.9% year on year spurred on by a quirky Latin Christmas menu and the company’s Christmas Present Fund project which saw the company donate £5 for each party – matched by The Entertainer and raising over £24,000.
CEO Mos Shamel said:
“Las Iguanas is about fun all year round, so where better to escape to at Christmas for some untraditional partying without a sprout in sight. Year on year we’ve seen growth over the festive period and that trend has continued this year with a fantastic performance from our teams across the country.
“This year we also saw a particularly strong week between Christmas and the New Year and a phenomenal New Year’s Eve. With some cracking new sites also opening in the next few months this is a great start to 2015. ”
Las Iguanas currently have 38 branches across the UK with openings in Swansea, Woking and Torquay in March keeping the brand on track to realise the potential for over 100 branches.
The latest list of Sunday Times 100 Best Companies to Work For includes Las Iguanas and is officially released in March 2015. This is the second appearance for the company who also hold Investors in People Gold standard and the IiP Award for Excellence in Reward & Recognition 2014.
