Assured Hotels has been awarded the management of the independent hotel group Cedar Court Hotels, adding to the portfolio of hotels it manages on behalf of owners across the UK.
The privately owned Cedar Court group started with its first hotel in Wakefield thirty years ago in 1985. Three more 4-star hotels followed, including at Ainley Top, near Huddersfield and Halifax, in Harrogate and Bradford. The five star Cedar Court Grand Hotel in York opened in 2010 but was sold last year.
There are just under 500 bedrooms plus bars and restaurants across the four hotels, three of which have fitness and leisure amenities. All offer extensive private function and conference facilities; the largest of which caters for up to 800 delegates.
Speaking on behalf of the management company Deputy Chairman, Iain Shelton said, “We are delighted to be working with the Cedar Court properties. They are well known in the North of England and one of the leading corporate hotel groups in Yorkshire.”
Assured’s Chief Operating Officer Mathew Griffin, commented, “The Cedar Court group has a lot going for it, not least of which is its staff. We are committed to the principles of continuing to offer honest Yorkshire hospitality which plays an important part in the Cedar Court philosophy. We have great experience of providing a smooth and uncomplicated transition and enjoyed a busy Christmas, serving over 16k customers across the group. Our plans for investment in future refurbishments will bring benefits for customers which, by the end of 2015, will translate into increased revenue.”
