The freehold of The Penny Farthing, currently rated #1 Lyndhurst hotel on TripAdvisor, has been sold by leisure property specialist Fleurets to an overseas investor, Middle Eastern Ymat Investments Ltd.
This positive news for the hotel follows sad and recent closure of the prominent Lyndhurst Park Hotel. The property was placed on the market for the first time after 21 years of ownership by the previous owner Mike Saqui and was marketed at an asking price of £1,590,000.
“The property is situated in the heart of the New Forest National Park and is a profitable, well established three-star AA Metro Hotel with a turnover of £390,000 net per annum. The hotel enjoys a good mix of both corporate and leisure trade all year round,” says Will Thomas of Fleurets. “Hence we were not surprised about the strong interest generated. We are confident the new owner will continue running the hotel with success.”
The property features two three-bedroom apartments, 21 en-suite guestrooms, 40-cover restaurant, lounge, reception, office and facilities including a laundry. 24-space car park and a small garden on the rear enrich the external area.
