Medirest, part of Compass Group UK and Ireland, has successfully renewed a £3.8 million contract with University Hospitals Bristol NHS Foundation Trust to deliver a range of food and support services to South Bristol Community Hospital.
The leading provider of catering and soft services to the NHS and wider UK healthcare market has secured the two year contract extension, following a successful three year partnership with the hospital. The contract covers domestic services, patient dining, portering, a Deli Marché retail café, security, car park management and linen maintenance – carried out by over 60 Medirest colleagues.
Medirest’s patient dining offer for the hospital is Steamplicity; an innovative system which provides patients with a choice of 28 main meals, enabling them to look at the menu and choose a different dish each day during their stay. The meals are steam-cooked and cooked from fresh in just a few minutes.
The hospital’s 2014 Patient-Led Assessments of the Care Environment saw scores of 98.54% for cleaning and 100% for ward food. The Trust consists of a group of hospitals in the heart of Bristol, with over 8,000 staff who provide over 100 different clinical services across nine sites.
