Eco-friendly Henry’s Grill for Elmbridge

By James Russell: Eco-friendly Henry’s Grill for Elmbridge

December 15, 2014

Reza Amini restaurateur has opened Henry’s Grill, the second independent eco-friendly and sustainable restaurant in Elmbridge Borough, Surrey

Reza Amini, who founded the El Torito Mexican restaurant chain, secured the former site of Daylesford Organic restaurant in Esher High Street, Esher, Surrey, through Davis Coffer Lyons for the opening of his new restaurant – Henry’s Grill – the second independent, eco-friendly and sustainable restaurant in the Elmbridge borough of Surrey. It is the ‘brother’ restaurant to Henry’s Kitchen in Hampton Court, Surrey, which opened in May this year.

Reza Amini says, “It’s important that everyone do what they can to save the planet, so I wanted to create a second sustainable restaurant in Elmbridge borough. I am so pleased to be returning to Esher High Street as it’s where I started my restaurant career in 1996. At Henry’s Grill we will use local ingredients and incorporate many sustainable features such as our beautiful bar made from recycled glass.”

Named after Henry VIII, the restaurant will feature a rotisserie charcoal grill, which will give a delicious flavour to the restaurant’s choice of southern county’s meat, free range chicken and fish and seafood from sustainable sources.

The menu at Henry’s Grill will be a combination of modern British and Mediterranean dishes, with the focus on the grill offering a range of steaks, burgers and seafood. It will be changed regularly to reflect what is in season locally.

The restaurant’s interior walls are made from reclaimed Surrey timber; tables from recycled wood and use of recycled glass in the bar. Menus will be printed on recycled paper and light fittings will be energy-saving LEDs.

The restaurant is a member of the Sustainable Restaurant Association (SRA) and it will apply for accreditation. The SRA will rate the restaurant across 14 key areas of sustainability.

The restaurant will be open for lunch and dinner seven days a week, breakfast at the weekends, with live music on Fridays and Saturdays.

Reza Amini is a well-known restaurateur in the area, as he also owns Square Olive, an Italian restaurant in Hampton Court, and Clarence Brasserie in Windsor.
