Following the appointment of new Head Chef, Steve Barringer earlier this year, Flitwick Manor Hotel has been awarded 2 AA Rosettes for culinary excellence.
After just three months of hard work and focus crafting a new menu for the hotel’s restaurant, the efforts of Woburn local Steve have now been recognised by the highly sought after official AA seal of approval.
Having spent 15 years within the hospitality industry and with a 2011 Masterchef: The Professionals Finalist title under his belt, Barringer returned to the kitchens where he began his career as pot washer in 2001. Together with a new sous chef, kitchen team and the support and direction from General Manager, Giles Shaw, Steve has put his own personal stamp on the hotel’s fine dining menu and the results have been well received.
General Manager Giles Shaw comments, “We are thrilled to be awarded such an accolade. Steve and his team’s enthusiasm, passion for food and innovative use of ingredients are a delight to experience and we are honoured to have their hard work recognised.”
Flitwick Manor’s fine dining restaurant at the four star hotel is an epicurean delight that will appeal to all food enthusiasts whether hotel guests, local residents or visitors from further afield. Steve’s menu descriptions are kept to the bare minimum, with limited detail in order to build suspense and intrigue for diners. Steve’s use of multiple techniques, showcasing his team’s skills as chefs, aims to provide diners with a complete sensory experience, highlighting the numerous ways in which ingredients can shine.
