NoChintz, the Manchester-based creative studio has completed a project for new independent wine bar and retailer, Salut Wines. The unique venue, which is situated on the city’s Booth Street will be Manchester’s largest wine dispensing business, offering customers the opportunity to enjoy 42 different world wines by the glass and over 200 bottles to purchase.
It will also provide specialist master classes enabling customers to differentiate between the Cabernet Franc and the Cabernet Mitos with specialist master classes.
NoChintz was appointed on the project by its clients, Jon and Sara Saunby to oversee the complete interior design of the of the 250sq m former Oddbins unit. The brief included designing and delivering a retail offering, a bar and a separate area for the wine tasting classes.
The NoChintz team has achieved this by completely remodelling the interior through installing a mezzanine level, back of house facilities and installing toilets underneath the space. The transformation includes a new feature staircase and bespoke designed balustrade which have been created with high end industrial finishes, specialist lighting and comfortable seating providing an intimate environment for customers to enjoy the carefully selected wines on offer.
Amy Brown, associate at NoChintz said: “We have created a truly original concept, taking inspiration from the world of fine wines to deliver a unique venue for Manchester. We have used recycled glass on the counter tops and a feature wall which depicts the existing brand in cork, integrating associated materials to create a relaxed, high end bar offering.”
NoChintz also designed the brand new shop front which includes bespoke signage, awnings and an outdoor seating area.
Sara Saunby, owner of Salut Wines added: “We are delighted with the look and feel of the first Salut Wines Bar. It really reflects our original brief and creates the perfect environment for customers either wishing to enjoy a glass or two with us, popping in to browse the vast range of international wines or to enjoy our expert tuition.
“NoChintz has successfully delivered a concept which is like no other in the city and we are thrilled with the creativity and imagination that they have brought to the project.”
Salut Wines features the city’s largest installation of Enomatic machines; a wine preservation and dispensing system which will allow customers to buy a 50ml sample of any wine sold by the glass to accompany tapas style plates of food.
The retail offering displays a further 200 wines and a fine wine cabinet.
NoChintz was established in 2007 and has since grown into a flourishing interiors and branding studio.
