The Busby Hotel re-opens its doors

By James Russell: The Busby Hotel re-opens its doors

November 2, 2014

Following a £2.5 million refurbishment of one of East Renfrewshire’s most historic hotels, The Busby Hotel, part of the Manorview Hotel & Leisure Group is now open.

The sixth property to join the expanding portfolio of family owned and operated Manorview Hotel & Leisure Group, the 29 bedroom property, complete with bar, restaurant and two function suites, has undergone a complete transformation to the highest standard over the last ten months.

The Busby is already making a significant contribution to the local economy, employing the skills of several local trades’ people and the services of a number of Scottish based suppliers. Over 70 jobs have been created within the hotel and restaurant, with the majority of new staff coming from the surrounding area.

The hotel is also one of the first hotels in the central belt of Scotland to be ‘WorldHost Accredited’, an internationally recognised customer service training programme, which all front of house team members have successfully undertaken.

Luxury and comfort in modern surroundings

Manorview has transformed the hotel to the highest standards combining luxury and comfort in modern surroundings whilst retaining its original character and charm. The stylish decor and state of the art equipment throughout, which includes the likes of Bose sound systems and Porcelanosa bathroom suites, make The Busby Hotel a top destination venue in East Renfrewshire.

The 140 cover bar and restaurant ‘Carters’, will be serving up a relaxed and informal dining experience, offering a menu of freshly prepared dishes using the best local produce. A carefully selected wine and extensive beer list, including craft beers such as WEST, Blue Moon and Samuel Smith Pure will bring out the best of the Scottish and Italian flavours of the menu.

With private gardens for photographs, two stunning function suites catering for up to 200 people and large balcony overlooking the leafy banks of the River Cart, wedding bookings for The Busby Hotel are already flooding in. While the opulent Honeymoon Suite, a signature feature for Manorview properties, even includes a private outdoor hot tub and garden.

Steve Graham, Managing Director of Manorview Hotel & Leisure Group said: “The Busby is our most ambitious project to date.  While past developments have undergone phased refurbishment, this is the first time we’ve completely renovated the entire property at the same time.  It has been a huge task undertaken over the past ten months to get the project in on time and budget, but we are thrilled with the results.

“Back in the day, The Busby was one of Glasgow’s most iconic hotels for Saturday night dances and events and we’ve worked hard to put the heart back into this hotel. Attention to detail is paramount, with every element of the hotel considered to ensure the highest standards have been met. We’re looking forward to welcoming our customers and the hotel reclaiming its title as one of East Renfrewshire’s most popular venues.”

Overnight prices for The Busby Hotel start for £70 per night for a standard room, with suites starting from £170, including breakfast and taxes.
