By James Russell: Wetherspoon hits punch record

October 13, 2014

Wetherspoon commercial manager Gary Holmes (centre) is pictured receiving a Guinness World Records certificate on behalf of the company, with adjudicator Mark McKinley (left) and Diageo GB account executive Matt Melhuish.

The Guinness World Records Certificate recognised Wetherspoon for serving the most pitchers of summer punch sold in 24 hours in multiple venues.

Its pubs served a total of 1,343 pitchers of Pimm’s in mid-August to achieve the world record.

Gary said: “It is fantastic for Wetherspoon to be named as a Guinness World Record Holder. “Pimm’s is extremely popular in our pubs and it is thanks to our customers that we achieved this record.”
