A new ‘How to Guide’ to help pubs reap rewards from the festive period has been launched by Unilever Food Solutions.
The downloadable Pub How to Guide features 12 steps to success and gives easily digestible tips and advice on topics such as costing and marketing festive menus, planning ahead, dietary alternatives and waste avoidance. It also includes an example timeplan to help pubs plan for busy days.
The guide has been created by UFS’s pub expert, Chris Barber, who said: “Christmas is a great opportunity for pubs to attract new customers and make big profits, and it really is win:win for pubs if they get it right.
“Chains and big operators get loads of support from head office on how to get Christmas right, but independents rarely get this. So we’re filling this gap with our new guide, to help independents with some of the essentials.”
Second in series
The new guide is the second in a series of How to Guides aimed at independent pubs. The first guide, launched in July, focuses on allergens. It features ideas and advice on how on how some classic pub meals and menu items – such as fish and chips and steak with green peppercorn sauce – can be adapted to suit those with certain food allergies.
