Feeding the 5,000 at the Brighton Centre

By James Russell: Feeding the 5,000 at the Brighton Centre

October 13, 2014

Caterer Kudos, has revitalised its exclusive Feed café concept at the Brighton Centre as part of a £250,000 investment programme. Kudos’s new contractual term at the Brighton Centre commenced in April 2014 and is expected to generate £5m over the next 5 years.

Street food, high street café and conference dining

The Feed retail concept is a clever blend of fashionable street food, high street café and conference dining. The look, feel and language is fun and unique in capturing the quirky essence of Brighton, and is currently the talk of the Centre amongst visitors and staff.

The three new fixed retail outlets and bars offer a modern conference and concert retail concept to visitors that includes breakfast, lunch, afternoon tea, dinner and late night feeding options as well licensed bars for events.

Local product range

The onsite Kudos team has introduced a brand new local product range to the Brighton Centre including locally caught fish from the South Coast; meat and poultry from Burt’s family butchers in Bexhill; and all fruit and veg from Tasteables of Brighton.

Some of the new additions to this Autumn’s menus include the ‘hot Turkish’ sub, the Brighton ‘fish diggidy dog’ and the ‘American’, a slow cooked pulled pork belly with sticky BBQ sauce, homemade slaw served in a fresh bap from the local baker in Newhaven.

The cafe concepts have been revitalised and have evolved in line with the local target audience with minimal disruption to the daily operation at the Centre.

Jon Pryce, Managing Partner of Kudos comments “Our new product range has been in place since the end of August and we are already seeing an increase in sales. With consumer demands constantly changing it’s great to see we are evolving with local fashions and trends by offering a locally sourced, family friendly, street food café concept”

The Brighton Centre is the largest conference and exhibition centre in southern England and has regularly hosted party political conferences, association conferences, exhibitions and events. The venue has the capacity to accommodate up to 5,000 delegates and is also due to stage a host of live music concerts over the coming months including Kaiser Chiefs, Kasabian, Madness and Lily Allen.
