Frescobaldi, the first standalone restaurant and wine bar to be launched in the UK by Italy’s oldest and most respected wine dynasty, has announced the appointment of Roberto Reatini as head chef.
Roberto arrives at Frescobaldi from Zafferano restaurant where he was sous chef. Prior to this, he was senior sous chef at Shoreditch House, working alongside head chef Michele Nargi.
This talented young chef has created a stunning new menu for Frescobaldi in which he offers his own take on classic Tuscan dishes.
His hors d’oeuvres menu will feature delicacies like red prawn carpaccio with green apple & caviar. First course choices feature such standouts as veal cheek pappardelle with rosemary bread and maltagliati pasta & cannellini beans, whilst mains include vegetables & olives ossobuco. Desserts are equally as inspiring, including the mouthwatering mille-feuille with caramelised apricots.
These dishes will be paired with an extensive array of wines produced by Marchesi de’ Frescobaldi, a company whose extraordinary heritage encompasses nine estates (predominantly in the hills around Florence and Siena – pictured above), distribution in 65 countries and countless awards.
Set to open at the beginning of November, Frescobaldi is the first joint venture between the Frescobaldi family and the Good Food Society, a hospitality business set up by Levent Büyükuğur, founder of Istanbul Doors, an international restaurant group with over 40 venues in Turkey, the UK, Russia and Azerbaijan, and entrepreneur Sanjay Nandi.
