‘Q-Buster’ reduces queue times up to 30%

By James Russell: ‘Q-Buster’ reduces queue times up to 30%

September 29, 2014

Innovate Services, the innovative school catering company, has launched the Q-Buster app, a new initiative that has been devised with the aim of helping to reduce queue times for school meals by as much as 30%.

The Q-Buster service has already launched in 19 school restaurant sites at the start of the September term, with full roll-out to further sites over the coming months.

Mobile phone app for pre-ordering

The Q-Buster, a mobile phone app, has been designed to work on iPhone and Android devices.  It enables sixth-form students and school staff to easily pre-order their meal, pay and then collect from a designated pick-up point within the meals service area.  The aim is that it will help decrease queue times by as much as 30%.

Delivering a modernised catering service

Commenting on the launch of Q-Buster, Derick Martin, CEO of Innovate Services said: “We are continually looking at ways of delivering a modernised catering service that provides choice and availability with a prompt and efficient service.

“We have therefore designed the Q-Buster app to help reduce queuing time further still. It’s very easy to use – users register, view menus, pre-order and pay in a matter of clicks. The Q-Buster innovation aims to offer choice, convenience and saves time for everyone involved.”

Exclusive offers are also made available for Q-Buster users, plus reward points are gathered when orders are placed.  The app essentially means student don’t have to queue up, but can simply pop by and collect their order at the specified date and time.

About Innovate Services Ltd

Based in West Byfleet, Surrey, Innovate Services Ltd launched in 2007 to offer an exciting new approach to catering in schools and colleges, driven by a goal to inspire students with a blend of healthy eating and an inviting environment in which they enjoy spending their time. Today it operates in over 90 sites to deliver a fresh approach to school meals provision.

Innovate, in partnership with school business managers, head-teachers, staff and students, turns old, drab canteens into modern, vibrant multi-functional spaces that bring a new heart to the school or college.  The team focuses on creating great food, which is healthy and importantly what students want to eat.  Innovate reduces queues and massively expands choice and availability and the results speak for themselves, with many schools and colleges typically doubling meal uptake.

In 2014, Innovate launched its ‘Innovate 4 Little People’ service, to provide a fully catered service to primary schools across the UK.

Innovate provides a modern catering service, while delivering a host of value-added services and curriculum support initiatives.
