The Gold Service Scholarship is now open for entries, which must be received by the closing date of Tuesday 30 September 2014.
All those working in and around the restaurant sector are encouraged to promote the Scholarship, and bring it to the attention of colleagues and talented individuals working Front of House.
Young professionals in restaurant service
The Scholarship, founded by Willy Bauer OBE, is seeking to recognise and celebrate the achievements of young professionals working in restaurant service in the hospitality industry. It is again being supported by industry leaders in partnership with the Royal Academy of Culinary Arts, the Academy of Food & Wine Service, and lead sponsor BaxterStorey.
Edward Griffiths CVO, Deputy Master of the Royal Household, has again agreed to Chair the Judges. They include John Davey, Silvano Giraldin, Diego Masciaga and Sergio Rebecchi. Together with our Guest Judges they are seeking to inspire a new generation of young people in the industry to make a professional career in the service side of hospitality.
Prizes
Prizes include a year’s worth of mentoring; learning; travel; courses and placement opportunities from a group of the most senior service professionals in the UK and around the world.

Entry is on-line through the website, where there are also full details of the Scholarship opportunities, prizes and video clips of last year’s Regional Finals, National Finals and Awards Ceremony.
Key stages this year will be:
- Regional Finals at the University of West London on 18 and 19 November 2014;
- The National Final at The Connaught Hotel in London on Monday, 2 February 2015;
- The glittering Awards Ceremony on Monday 9 February at Claridge’s Hotel in London.
