Fast expanding Coal Grill and Bar led by founder and CEO John Gater has opened its latest and eighth restaurant at the popular waterside development owned by the Peel Group – Gloucester Quays.
The listed wharf-side warehouse provides ground floor space for over 100 covers plus a cocktail bar and is located directly opposite the multi-screen with uninterrupted views of the canal.

Renowned for design
Coal Grill & Bar is renowned for uniquely designed restaurants and its smart cocktail bars. Many restaurants feature open plan, theatre style kitchens and offer full a la Carte and Prix Fixe menus with new flavours inspired from Santa Fe and New Orleans from the Deep South of America. Coal’s signature dish Firesticks, are a popular choice and include flame grilled skewers of prime meat and fish served on a hot skillet. An extensive menu of fresh chargrilled steaks and chicken, seafood, pizza and pastas are served daily. Coal Grill & Bar is open for breakfast, lunch, dinner and evening cocktails.
Food provenance is a priority for the Coal Grill & Bar brand, with a majority of meat sourced from South Gloucestershire and Somerset Farms. Fish is also provided by a Brixham based wholesaler.
The fast expanding national chain will open two further restaurants in Telford and Swindon later this year, taking the total number of units to ten. Development continues for 2015 with further sites on the horizon.

The Group is comfortably on target to be operating 16 branches by the end of 2015, with sites already in discussion for 2016 and 2017.
