Branded Hotel Management (BHM) has signed a contract to run two hotels in Northamptonshire and Yorkshire, safeguarding 35 jobs: the Hampton by Hilton – Corby/Kettering (pictured above) – which became Europe’s first Hampton by Hilton hotel in 2009 – and Park Inn by Radisson Doncaster Hotel (below).
The 88-room Hampton by Hilton – Corby/Kettering hotel on the Rockingham Leisure Park in Princewood, Corby, employs 18 staff and the 85-room Park Inn in Decoy Bank South, White Rose Way, has a 17-strong workforce.
Developing the hotels and their businesses
Andy Townsend, business development director at BHM, said: “We are delighted to be involved in these two hotel projects, which have had some instability over the past few years with the former tenant.
“Now with us working directly with the hotels’ owner, we are better placed to develop the hotels and their businesses to ensure that we increase their share of both leisure and corporate business.”
He said: “Our immediate aim has been to stabilise the management teams at both properties with the appointment of new general managers at each unit.
“In conjunction with the respective brands, we will be reviewing the sales and marketing plans to develop each business and re-establish their share of hotel bookings in Corby and Doncaster.”
BHM’s growth
The announcement of the latest additions to the group follows BHM being appointed as operators of the new, four-star deluxe 216-bedroom headquarter hotel as part of the development of the new convention centre on the water front at Liverpool’s Echo Arena. The Pullman Liverpool will be operated by BHM under a franchisee agreement from Accor Hotels & Resorts and is scheduled to open in September next year.
Andy added: “Taking over the management contract of the Hampton by Hilton – Corby/Kettering and Park Inn by Radisson Doncaster Hotel as well as operating The Pullman Liverpool is all part of our growth agenda, which complements our combined portfolio of 27 assets across the UK and Southern Spain.”
