Punch Taverns gets Christmas sorted

By James Russell: Punch Taverns gets Christmas sorted

August 4, 2014

The early release of two Punch Taverns resources will put its Partners ahead of the game when it comes to this year’s Christmas peak period. The company is advising its Partners to get their Christmas plans finalised by 1 September.

Launch of menu builder and starter kit

As the longest period of peak trading in the year, the run-up to Christmas and the New Year can also present some of the biggest headaches for licensees – with a huge amount of additional planning and stocking. However, Punch Taverns Partners will have a head start this year, thanks to the early launch of the company’s Christmas menu builder and starter kit.

The menu builder gives ideas for starters, main courses and desserts, together with guidelines around pricing, food costs and gross profit targets. Planning and ordering are an easy four-step process.

The Christmas starter kits provide a catalogue of advertising and point of sale support. Partners can choose from a range of professional designs for matching banners, posters, tent cards and menus. They can also opt for Christmas cards with ‘bounce-back’ offers and other incentives designed to keep customers coming back.

All the items are easy to order online and turnaround is just seven days after approval. Better still, by working from set templates, Punch Taverns’ in-house creative team are able to provide this service at a fraction of the normal cost.

Time to think about Christmas

Alan Todd, Head of Catering Development said: “We’re telling our Partners that now is the time to be thinking about Christmas, talking to party organisers and securing bookings. Our pubs are trading at their peak over the summer and it gives our Partners a great opportunity to target all those visitors and get them to come back for the Christmas festivities.

“The menu builder and Christmas starter kits really make things simpler. We’re pleased to be going the extra mile to help our Partners get their plans in place so early in the year.”
