Bella Italia, the family-friendly Italian restaurant chain, has announced the launch of its first Gelato Cart, enabling customers to create their own style of Italy’s favourite ice cream. Initially launching in the Oracle Centre Reading, the Gelato Cart dessert concept will be integrated into further refurbishments and new development sites going forward, before being further rolled out within the estate.
11 flavours
To create their own Gelato, customers will be able to choose from eleven different delicious flavours. From popular Strawberry, Chocolate and Vanilla to inventive Cocotella (Coconut and ‘Nutella’) and Honeycomb, the Gelato can be enjoyed as a one scoop tub or cone, a three scoop Sundae or a four scoop sharing Sundae. To complete their Gelato, 18 tasty treats are available with the option of having one or a combination of as many generously sized toppings as you can dream of!
Expansion and refurbishment project
The launch of the Gelato Cart at the Reading location comes as a result of the site’s £300,000 full refurbishment. It is part of the brand’s on-going expansion and refurbishment project, which will see around 20 restaurants refurbished, and another 15 new sites opened, over the next year. The Reading restaurant boasts a modern and bold Mediterranean colour scheme, cosy lighting and a cool, comfortable atmosphere, with design details that are unique to that restaurant.
Nick White, Managing Director at Bella Italia, commented: “We’re delighted to be announcing the launch of the Gelato Cart at Bella Italia. This addition to our offering brings a fun approach to authentic Italian Gelato and supports a number of our key objectives which includes delivering outstanding value for money and offering an experience that makes our customers smile. Bella Italia has very broad appeal and our research shows that the Gelato Cart does too, with children and adults alike and we fully expect the new Italian ice cream selection to go from strength-to-strength as it makes its way to all of our new and refurbished sites this year.”
Dependent on location, the cost of Gelato begins at £1.45 and the price of toppings starts at 50p.
