SSP, a leading operator of food and beverage outlets in travel locations worldwide, has secured a £135 million seven year deal to run five new units at London Stansted Airport. The announcement comes as Stansted’s owner, Manchester Airports Group (MAG), reveals details of a range of improvements that are part of a £260 million investment programme, including an £80 million terminal transformation project.
The deal includes the launch of an innovative new high-end bakery concept created by SSP in partnership with popular UK chef James Martin. The James Martin Kitchen will offer a combination of fresh farm ingredients and high quality baking, and is the first outlet of its kind.
Brand line-up

James Martin Kitchen
Chef James Martin is well-known to TV viewers across Britain. With its roots firmly in the farms of Britain, James Martin Kitchen is a premium bakery that will offer an exciting combination of fresh farm ingredients and the highest quality baking, and is ideal for passengers who want to eat in or to grab and go. The James Martin Kitchen will be making its debut at Stansted.
Cabin
Bringing a little luxury to Stansted, Cabin invites passengers to ‘make the most of their time, not waste it’. Cabin serves fine wines from a sumptuous bar area with a food menu of contemporary British delicacies created in an open kitchen. Welcoming and relaxing, Cabin’s stunning decor and elegant lighting will set the tone as passengers begin their journey. Cabin at Stansted is another airport debut.
Starbucks
Starbucks is a truly global brand, with the highest reputation for quality, service and operational excellence. SSP, as the brand’s primary airport partner, will offer Stansted’s passengers the chance to enjoy the Starbucks experience in an environment that has been carefully tailored for the travelling consumer. The new outlet will be a Starbucks Evenings concept, a first at a European airport. A tapas and wine menu has been specifically designed to appeal to an international customer base with diverse requirements.
Burger King
BURGER KING restaurants, a familiar name on high streets and at airports around the world, is the perfect fit for the Stansted passenger in terms of product range, service style and value. The BURGER KING restaurant at Stansted will incorporate a new, urban design that offers style, comfort and convenience. All the amenities required by the busy traveller, including FIDS and power supplies, will ensure that they can relax and enjoy a great-tasting meal or snack before their flight.

Marks & Spencer Simply Food stores bring M&S’s exceptional quality and innovative food products to convenient travel locations. The new store at Stansted will stock an extensive range of food and drink lines including products for customers on-the-go and for those looking to pick up food essentials and something for the evening meal on their way home from the airport.
