Since premium Kitchen and Cocktail Bar The Snug opened its doors in Hitchin for the first time on 16 May, the new venue has more than doubled its sales expectation, after a staggering 2000 covers were served at the 60 cover site in week one.
The early ‘till late kitchen and cocktail offering proved to be a big hit after customers sipped 1,500 cocktails in week one, with the number of meals ordered also exceeding expectations. The Grilled Chicken Sandwich from the £5.95 Lunchtime Menu stood out as the top food item and the most-sipped cocktail was the classic Silver Mojito.
Cosy and welcoming atmosphere
Guests were greeted with Snug’s trademark cosy and welcoming atmosphere and felt completely at home at their local – reinvented. The daily 3-7pm Happy Hour has proved hugely popular, and sales of craft beer also out performed expectation for the venue that specialises in providing customers with an eclectic mix of premium cocktails.
Winning formula
The Snug has seen consistent growth since its launch in 2004. Its winning consumer formula has continued to be a success following the opening of the Hitchin site, which mirrors the warm, friendly and familiar service for which the other five Snug venues, based in Cambridge, St Albans, High Wycombe and Hertford, have become known.
