The Balloon is going up for C&C at Brooklands
Greg Swift, C&C’s project manager for BrooklandsCEDA Members, C&C Catering Equipment, are installing a new ground floor kitchen in the Balloon hanger of the world famous Brooklands museum of motorsports and aviation.
The Brooklands museum is on the site of the world’s first purpose built motor racing circuit at Weybridge in Surrey which opened in 1907.
The site is now home to Concorde and hundreds of historic cars, aircraft and other transport themed exhibits.
Having been awarded £7 million by the Heritage Lottery fund the site has embarked on a major revival project to ensure they can deliver a world-class experience to existing and new audiences.
C&C’s work is part of that scheme. The project began last year and will run until 2017.
The new kitchen installation comprises, extract canopy, cooking section, food preparation area and a dishwashing section and is scheduled to complete in early August.
Greg Swift, C&C’s project manager for the installation commented, “We have a real-life Concorde on our doorstep and it’s a great privilege to be working on a project at a site dedicated to science and engineering. We hope our work measures up to all of these fantastic exhibits.”
