Amber Rose re-opens creating 30 jobs

By James Russell: Amber Rose re-opens creating 30 jobs

July 16, 2014

One of Edinburgh’s much loved pubs, the Amber Rose has re-opened to the delight of its customers after nine months closure. The pub was forced to close after the building was damaged following a fire in TGI Fridays above.

After extensive refurbishment of the building and the interior of the pub, the Amber Rose has created 30 jobs, four of which will be returning employees.

The pub, which is situated in the City Centre on the corner of Castle Street and Rose Street, has been sympathetically refurbished following a similar layout to before.

Changes to the offer

Arron Gibbons, General Manager commented: “As well as the obvious physical refurbishment of the pub, we’ve made some changes to our offer so the Amber Rose will be even better than before. We will be opening now daily from 8am serving breakfast and will also be hosting live music three nights a week. Another change is to our food and drinks menu – adding to our great quality traditional dishes with some Scottish favourites and introducing craft beer.”

Following its re-launch the pub will extend its trading hours by opening from 8am daily serving a great selection breakfast options from full English to traditional Scottish. Free WiFi will be available making it an ideal place to enjoy breakfast or simply a stop for a freshly brewed Lavazza coffee. The pub will have a brand new menu, catering for customers throughout the day and evening from snacks and sharing platters to classic pub dishes.   Also new to the Amber Rose will be Britain’s latest drinks trend – craft beer. A choice of three craft beers will be available at any one time and will be offered by the pint or as three, third pint taster trays. Cask ales, always a favourite of Amber Rose customers will be on tap with a choice of five local and national ales.

As well as a great place to catch sports, the Amber Rose will be hosting live music three nights a week – Wednesday, Thursdays and Fridays. Its popular quiz night will return too, on Tuesday evenings.  “Edinburgh is such a vibrant city with so much going on, particularly in the Summer with the fringe festival, so we can’t wait to re-open to be a part of the Edinburgh buzz again,” added Arron.
