Gleddoch House, the former family home of Clydeside shipping baron Sir William Lithgow, which has more recently been developed into a four-star hotel with its own 18-hole golf course, is for sale. The Gleddoch House Hotel & Golf Course, set within 270 acres in the village of Langbank, Renfrewshire, Scotland, is being marketed by Colliers International, with the selling agent inviting offers around £2.5m.
Overlooking the Clyde, with views to Ben Lomond and the Renfrewshire Hills, the hotel offers 69 bedrooms, a range of bars; restaurants; function, conference and meeting rooms; in addition to an extensive leisure, gym and spa facility, with its own indoor swimming pool. Built in the 1920s and since extended with contemporary extensions and additions, its proximity to the M8 motorway, Glasgow and Glasgow Airport has seen the venue become a popular destination, attracting leisure, wedding, conference and function guests. The challenging 18-hole golf course is regarded as one of the most scenic in the West of Scotland.
Gleddoch House Hotel has been owned by the same London-based property investors since 2005 and run entirely under management in the intervening period. They have decided to sell the property and business to concentrate on other business investments elsewhere.
