Las Iguanas have won the Investors in People (IiP) Award 2014 for Excellence in Reward and Recognition. Already holders of the IiP Gold Standard Award, this latest recognition sets Las Iguanas themselves apart from other high performing organisations and confirms their ongoing commitment to staff development. They were the only restaurant operator to be shortlisted at the inaugural IIP Awards held this week in London.

The Award citation reads:
“Las Iguanas operates in a sector that isn’t renowned for good reward and recognition, so it’s great to see such a wide range of reward techniques in place, including ones from which employees who might not be in the business for the long term can still benefit.
“The Incentives Co-ordinator role shows good practice in terms of raising awareness about what’s on offer, and the Voice Teams are an excellent way of making sure that employees’ views are heard across the disparate locations. The organisation’s reward offerings are focused on what drives the workforce, and how that links to business strategy.”
Entry criteria
The IiP entry criteria look for excellence in reward and recognition schemes – ‘highlighting the way for others to follow’:
“Does your organisation attract the best talent? Do you reward high levels of performance and contribution? Are your employees motivated and incentivised to do their best? This award recognises the organisation that demonstrates excellence in its reward and recognition schemes, highlighting the way for others to follow to achieve business success.
Criteria:
- You must have achieved Standard, Bronze, Silver or Gold accreditation since 31st January 2011
- You must be based in the UK or Channel Islands”
