The 8th annual Galvin Cup finals took place on 9 June at London’s Steam and Rye, with Adam Lahham from Scarfes Bar taking the title of 2014’s winner.
The Galvin Cup is one of the UK’s leading bartender cocktail competitions. Teaming up with Bowmore Whisky, contestants were given the opportunity to show off their mixology skills in the qualifying heats, eventually being narrowed down into the final 6 for the Shake Off, testing both creative and technical skills.
This fantastic event is the brainchild of Galvin at Windows general manager, Fred Sirieix (winner of the best front of house award at the Tatler Restaurant Awards 2007, personality of the year 2011 at the Restaurant Awards and co-host of the BBC2 series Michel Roux’s Service) and Chef Patron Chris Galvin. They felt it was time that bar staff, like chefs, received recognition for their efforts and a chance to shine.
