Coinciding with the launch of its Manifesto for Jobs and Growth, the ALMR has introduced a new logo with the aim of promoting a fresh, progressive image for licensed hospitality.
Following the Association’s recent merger with BEDA and a surge in the number of casual dining operators being welcomed into membership, the new logo is designed to characterise the diversity of the licensed hospitality sector and features the strapline “DAYTIME, NIGHTIME, ANYTIME”.
ALMR Strategic Affairs Director, Kate Nicholls said: “A fresh, new ALMR logo coincides with the launch of Manifesto: Promoting jobs and growth in licensed hospitality and reflects the diversity of the ALMR’s membership and the sector as a whole.
“Pubs are synonymous with the community, yet there is more to the sector than the traditional image of the wet-led local. The licensed hospitality universe is changing and evolving to meet the demands and opportunities of a challenging and dynamic marketplace.
“This is a modern, vibrant sector delivering investment in the heart of communities throughout the UK and promoting growth with originality and vitality. The evening economy provides our town centres with almost one-third of their turnover, 10% of all UK jobs and supports 8% of the countries’ businesses. The gap between day and night-time economies is shrinking as retailers provide increasingly sophisticated and exciting offers.
New positive image to shape perceptions
“An updated logo and new, positive image allows us to begin shaping perceptions of the industry in the minds of policy makers. Increasingly, we want to move away from the image of the pub as the sleepy village constant or the hotspot for weekend chaos. Licensed hospitality contributes 6% of GDP and creates 1 in 8 of all new UK jobs. We want to promote this industry as one which consistently delivers growth and remains one of the UK’s finest assets.”
