Edwardian Group London has announced the appointment of award-winning international design firm Yabu Pushelberg for its new hotel development in London’s Leicester Square.
New York and Toronto based Yabu Pushelberg will work with the hospitality group to develop a unique ‘Luxury Lifestyle’ concept for the recently consented scheme in the heart of London’s West End.
New hotel, iconic location
“Over many years we have built up our business, with a focus on London and the capital has been very good to us. My ambition has always been to build a new hotel in an iconic location benefiting not only our company and customers, but Londoners alike. We believe our Leicester Square development will achieve that,”says Jasminder Singh, CEO of Edwardian Group London.
Competing with top lifestyle and business hotels
“We see this project as transformational for the whole of Edwardian Group London, in that we intend to compete with the global stable of top lifestyle and business hotels with a bespoke brand and guest experience. The appointment of Yabu Pushelberg reinforces our professional design team and commitment to reaching ‘best in class’ for this new hotel. They will ensure our product stands out in a crowded market and will retain its value for our guests and the city for years to come.”
The hotel, which will revive the south west corner of Leicester Square, will have 360 guest rooms; a range of restaurant, lounge, and bar areas, as well as a ‘resort style’ spa and pool club. It will sensitively reflect its location in the centre of Theatreland; with room views capturing the iconic streetscape of Westminster and Whitehall, the London Eye and a bird’s eye view of Nelson’s column in Trafalgar Square.
Key position in London’s West End
“We are very excited about the potential for this project and developing the brief given to us by Edwardian Group London. We have a real opportunity to tell stories through our design of this development, utterly reflecting its key position in London’s West End. Our hope is to create an environment that people won’t want to leave!” says designer Glenn Pushelberg.
Yabu Pushelberg is a globally recognised design firm admired for their unique understanding of what the brands the partner with wish to achieve, as well as the guest experience. They have achieved world-acclaim for their rich use of materials, layering of space and sculpting of venues befitting hospitality.
The Edwardian Group London and Yabu Pushelberg partnership is for the duration of the Leicester Square hotel project and starts with immediate effect.
