Once an iconic music hall that saw the likes of Rod Stewart and Peter Sellers perform, head through the vibrant, cosy bar, past open fireplaces to the elegant main dining area and beautiful Orangery with its exposed brick walls; turn left through French doors, grabbing a blanket on the way, to t he stylish garden, complete with eclectic lighting, pergola and bookable wooden ‘mini castles’.
The food is all about t he best of British, celebrating fabulous produce in traditional dishes with modern twists, all prepared at the heart of the pub in the t heat re-style kitchen.
Mains include rotisserie Dingley Dell pork with crackling, cyder fondant potato, purple broccoli, toaee love apples and wholegrain sauce; as well as roasted rack of Welsh lamb with buttered Jersey Royals, minted pea and spinach purée and rosemary jus.
A penchant for pudding? Salted caramel and vanilla cheesecake; Bakewell tart, fruit compote and clotted cream; and lemon posset with lemon syrup and short bread biscuits are hard to resist.
And for those after something a little less formal, the pub’s homemade bar snacks provide a satisfying light bite.
