The Spirit Pub Company has announced the opening of its 100th Flaming Grill, following a £96,000 transformation of the Nags Head in Mickleover.
The move follows increasing demand for the pub chain’s brand of great value steaks, grills and food challenges, which includes the new Trash Can Challenge and infamous 1kg Flaming Challenge Burger.
To mark the milestone Spirit invited Britain’s strongest man, Eddie Hall, to open the Nag’s Head and visit the Spirit head office. Fire dancers were also on-hand to provide a flaming finish to the celebrations.
The investment has seen the pub receive a complete refurbishment with a flame grill inspired décor, furniture and kitchen equipment as well as a new chargrill menu focused on steaks and grills, served on hot sizzling skillets.
One of the UK’s most popular pub brands
Sally Whittaker, Brand Director for Flaming Grill, said: “Flaming Grill is fast becoming one of the UK’s most popular pub brands. With our commitment to great value flame grilled foods, we’re in a perfect position to capitalise on current trends, such as the rise of food challenges, as the result of programmes like Man V. Food. Our challenge dishes are becoming ever more popular with our guests who like to team up and make an event of it when taking on one of our challenges.
“We’ve got a great year planned and we’re in a fantastic position to make the most of this summer and continue to grow the brand – I’m sure we’ll be celebrating our 200th milestone in no time at all!”
Flaming Grill is part of Spirit Pub Company which owns and operates around 800 managed pubs across the UK. Other brands in its portfolio include Chef & Brewer, Fayre & Square and Taylor Walker.
