Pret A Manger has reported a 15% increase in sales to over £500 million for the year to January, as well as profit up 9% to £67 million.
Sales for the previous year were actually up 17%, but growth remains very strong as Pret continues to expand, with strong demand for healthy foods such as porridge, fruit (bananas particularly) and cold-pressed vegetable juices.
The chain now has 352 outlets, and is closing smaller takeaway outlets in favour of larger ones with the seating that many customers require.
Worldwide and UK expansion is continuing, with more shops to open in the USA as well as Paris and Hong Kong, and China is on the horizon.
