Aviva Investors, owners of Corn Exchange Manchester, is considering plans for an exciting boutique hotel in the historic Grade II listed building.
The new hotel will form a part of the £30m leisure redevelopment programme, which will also see 13 new independent restaurants open in Spring 2015 to join 4 more of the current restaurants that will be retained. The 86-room hotel will form a central element to the redevelopment of the stunning building which, upon completion, will be Manchester’s primary dining destination and will have principle frontage to Exchange Square, with guest accommodation to the upper floors.
Interested operators invited to express interest
Owners Aviva Investors and Queensberry Real Estate, the redevelopment managers are currently inviting interested operators to come forward and express interest in this unique and exciting opportunity, and have appointed leasing agents Jenics to manage all enquiries.

Project progress

The proposed hotel sits in the heart of Exchange Square, the focal point of the City’s retail and leisure sector and its immediate neighbouring attractions include Phones4U Arena, Manchester Arndale, National Football Museum, Printworks, Manchester Cathedral and international sporting venues.
With 10.8 million staying visitors in 2013 (over 1 million international visitors) Manchester is ranked 2nd in the UK in terms of its leisure offer and attractions.
The proposed hotel
Specific features of the proposed hotel would include a dominant feature in the stone arch entrance to Exchange Square, double height lobby and exposed Edwardian features, a breakfast room and lounge overlooking Exchange Square, plus service lifts to all floors.
“The listed nature and subsequent planned layout of the building actually means that there will be an opportunity to create some large, yet interesting, voluminous bedrooms – a really unique and stylish destination.
